A bit about us
Welcome to Tread Lightly Toys!
We are a small family run business which grew from our own experiences of being parents to our two beautiful daughters. Our ethos is to provide ethically made, eco friendly, quality toys that provide years of enjoyment and education for the children who play with them, whilst working towards a better and more sustainable future for both our children and future generations. We are taking a small step in the hope that others will follow. Together we can make a difference. Over the years we found the continual stream of poorly made plastic toys that entered our home were, not only, a waste of money and resources but often contained harmful chemicals such as BPA, arsenic and lead. Our children love to play with toys made from natural resources. They are more durable and we feel safe in the knowledge that their health is not at risk. Our suppliers all share our “Tread Lightly” ethos, using wood from sustainable FSC forests, alternative materials and fairtrade items. This store has been set up to provide you with an earth friendlier alternative to plastic toys. This is just the beginning. We will be working continually to make this business as eco friendly as possible. For every order we receive we will donate 10p to our charities - The Woodland Trust, who have planted 4.5 million trees since 1972, and the Fairtrade Foundation, who help improve the position of workers in the developing world.
